Case studies — 3D presentations
The «Oncocongress 2010» project is a demonstration 3D solution on stereoscopic surfaces.
It is designed to show impressive stereo effects and demonstrate possibilities of using these solutions at various public events, including conferences, symposiums and so on.
This presentation was created for NestLine communication agency. It was shown at the XIV Oncological Congress before the official start of the satellite medical symposium. One of its participants was the agency’s client — AstraZeneca pharmaceutical company.
The project scope included creation of a two-minute presentation video using computer software. The video was converted into stereo format for demonstration on a large rear projection screen in the congress hall of the World Trade Centre in Moscow.
The project software is a virtual environment presented at first by a spaceship module, and then by the outer space of our planetary system.
In the beginning of the presentation a viewer who is «on board» of a spaceship gets into open space. He sees comets passing by with their trails forming titles that highlight major landmarks in the history of AstraZeneca.
Then a viewer starts flying between planets. Each of them is named after one of active substances used in AstroZeneca’s medical products. Each planet has its own landscapes and individual peculiarities that distinguish it from the rest.
When approaching a planet a viewer can see an inscription with the name of a medical substance that the planet represents.
Perhaps the most amazing moment of the show is the «Planetary Alignment». A viewer sees all the planets lining up with the sun against the background of dark sky with myriads of stars and galaxies.
The stereoscopic presentation ends with a spectacular flight at the speed of light through a star tunnel. The viewer flies out to the main planet called after the key substance of medical products.
Total duration of the presentation is 2 minutes and 22 seconds.
The project hardware is a visual stereoscopic solution, which includes
- graphics workstation equipped with a professional video card such as NVIDIA Quadro FX 4600;
- stereoscopic rear projection screen (4.0x6.0 m);
- a pair of Panasonic PT-DZ12000 projectors with 12000 lumens of brightness and circular polarizing filters;
- 400 pairs of stereoscopic glasses with circular polarizing filters for the audience.
